ABOUT ME
When I retired in May 2019 after over 30 years as a professor, I had no idea how much I would miss the one-on-one with students. I miss working with them to turn their vague ideas into a full-blown research project, and turn that research project into a beautifully designed and written product. Editing brings me the same joy.
Perhaps because I’m an anthropologist, I enjoy the process of learning who someone is through their writing style and voice—and the challenge of respecting that style and voice while editing.
I am a Professor Emerita at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in the Regional Planning Program and the School of Public Policy, with a PhD in Anthropology (Cambridge University), and BA in English and Art History (Kenyon College). I am equally at home editing in the humanities and the social sciences, with some experience in the sciences. Combining my years of academic and non-academic professional editing, I have over 35 years of experience.
